Jeanette Thompson

Jeanette Livingston Thompson, 98, of Norwood passed away on Thursday April 11, 2024 at Trinity Place in Albemarle. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Norwood. Rev. Julie Hill and Rev. Larry Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Norwood Cemetery.

Jeanette was born February 28, 1926 in Stanly County to the late Carson Livingston and Gertrude Chapman Livingston. She spent most of her working career in the food service industry. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Norwood where she faithfully attended for many years. She also taught children’s sunday school, and sang in the choir.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert T. Thompson, and sisters Pauline Eudy, and Aileen Ballard. 

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Benton of Norwood, son Terry Thompson (Billie) of Marshville, brother Ralph Livingston of Virginia, six granddaughters, 15 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Norwood.
